I just returned from a few days at the home of my beautiful writer/artist friend, Joanna Powell Colbert, on Lummi Island, the northern-most island in the San Juan archipelago. We went to the beach, smelled the lavender, ate yummy food, sat on the porch in the early morning sun. She rode her bike. I climbed a mountain.
