I decided the lupine was nicer than a photo of the one and a half hostas
the oh-so-cute deer munched off. 😡 The lupine is like the fabled passion flower in my Raleigh garden: prolific and invasive. Going to have to monitor closely, or it will take over my garden. On the other hand, someday when I am gone, there could be a meadow full of lupine. It makes me kind of happy to think about.

The best part about lupine is the deer don’t really like it. 🙂 And it’s pretty to look at, too. And it keeps coming back so you don’t have to replant it every year!
I guess that’s three great things about lupine.

Haha! Yes, three! It also spreads. This was from a single plant summer before last. I have, however, been pulling seedlings from the blueberry bed and the broccoli box. And it keeps on coming. I hope it will come up outside the garden fence. (Of course then it will get mowed down.) I love it!
