I took an evening walk in the woods last night and found the trillium in Seminary Hill Natural Area in full extravagance. My neighbor and I share a little grove, halfway between the trails to each of our homes. In a dozen steps I counted thirty-eight! Have there never been so many, or have I never been out regularly enough to experience the peak? Also observed; the greening of the trail, a plethora of banana slugs, yellow violets, and the setting sun.

I love that you are so rooted this year in this magical wood. I’m enjoying all of these forest peeks as spring, and all of us, begin to emerge.

It does feel magical this spring. I will get out for a longer trek when the sun returns tomorrow.
