Not really flora or fauna, just this gentle two-minute sunrise this morning that slipped silently in and back out, giving way to a rainy day. I blinked and it was gone; but for the photo evidence, maybe it wasn’t really there but in my imagination.
I just returned from camping at Lake Quinault on the Olympic Peninsula. Hydrangeas grow wild there. I don’t know their history, perhaps they were once domestic and went rogue in the temperate rain forest climate. Huge bushes of blue bloom line the road now. I found pink and purple in the woods off the trail between campground and lodge.
