With gratitude for this corner of the world I am privileged to live in; for a strong, healthy body; and for the gift of time. This year was different with trails closed early in the season and later a desire to be on less crowded, preferably wide paths. My penchant for early morning departures served me well!
As always, thank you for joining me on the virtual trail in 2020. Here is where we trekked!
I am a Pacific Northwest native transplanted to the southeast for 36 years. In 2012, I returned to my childhood home and fell in love with this corner of the country again. I am a grandmother, a storywriter, a teacher, an attention payer, a hiker, and a back roads wanderer. Check out my website (and my memoir) at www.gretchenstaebler.com.

Such profound thanks for a virtual hiking tour on this end of November morning! Makes me want to finish my book and hit the trails! Post writing rehab–which you have perfected in your life. Mountains please, indeed.
Cheers to early risers !
I’d be lying if I said that didn’t make me tear up a bit. Beautiful ! A very different year for sure, but you made a pretty indelible mark on your summer adventure list. I love these videos you create. Nice graphic too … haha. May 2020 be one we look back on with tenderness and relief.
